Day 6: Merzouga – Khamlia – nomad family – Rissani – Merzouga - Erg Chebbi Dunes - Sahara Desert Exploration 4x4 & Camel Trek into the sunset

Wake up early morning to enjoy the sunrise on the top of the dune in the Sahara Desert. After these beautiful moments, you will ride your camel back to the hotel where you can have shower and breakfast. You will then have a tour of the dunes on 4x4 allowing you to visit the black volcanic rocks of fossils, visit a nomad family living in tent, visit to Khamlia village and entertainment of their spiritual music of Gnawa, and visit the lake Dayte Sarji that forms in springtime which attract pink flamingos and wildlife. Then you will have a break for lunch in Rissani. This silent town was the ancient capital of Tafilalet and its location as a crossroads between north and south brought the city to an important status of a former major caravan center. Up to now Rissani remains a major commercial center in the region, with a large souk, particularly lively today on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sunday. It was noted for its leather and goat skin trading in ancient ages. After lunch you will see the canal irrigation system and have a walk on the oasis located on the foot of the dunes. Continue to your hotel for shower and relax, then you take some of your luggage in a small bag (the necessary for the night in desert) and leave the other luggage in the hotel. Then we will ride the camels into the dunes of Erg Chebbi. This is a great opportunity to take lovely pictures of the sunset. When we reach the camp we will leave the camels and we walk to the highest sand dunes for sandboarding and to watch the sunset. We will spend the night in a camp (Berber nomad tents) with drums music in the middle of the Sahara.
